Mudanda Rock is evidence of nature's fascinating creations . It is a massive rock crop up, almost half a mile if not a mile long.
The Mudanda Rock is part of the spectacular Ngulia range in Tsavo west. A simple sign reads "Mudanda Rock means strips of drying meat." The long outcrop of stratified rock is a water catchment area supplying a dam at its base - a congregation point, during dry seasons, for hundreds of Elephant, Buffalo and other game which can be viewed a vantage point halfway up the rock. The rock is famous for its photo opportunities as it offers unique endless panoramic views across Tsavo East and Tsavo National Parks on the eastern side. On the western side, you can climb to the top through a footpath and a carved stone stair.
