The
mention of Kora Rock brings to mind the legendary
tale of George Adamson and the magnificent story of Elsa, the adopted
lioness at Kora reserve. Kora Rock is one of the
highest rocky inselbergs found at the Kora Reserve rising to 442m
high.
Location
Kora
reserve which is about 280 km to the north-east of Nairobi. Access
is via Thika to Mwingi then north-east through Kyuso village. A bridge
across the Tana River joins the park with Meru National Park.
Attractions
Major
attractions here are the pristine wilderness, Inselbergs, Tana River
with Adamson's Falls, Grand Falls and Kora rapids, diverse birdlife
George Adamson's grave, among others.
